1. The Organisation
The Helen McArdle Care Group (HMCG) are a reputable, quality focused & multi award winning care provider based in the Northeast of England. Their portfolio consists of a number of purpose built & luxurious care homes specialising in the provision of high quality nursing, residential and dementia care.
The organisation is experiencing a healthy rate of growth at this moment in time & is dedicated to maintaining this is in the future with the opening of more 5* care facilities in the region.
2. Role Summary
As the Registered Manager you will have the autonomy and responsibility of managing a business, you will lead a clinical team and be responsible for ensuring the whole facility operates effectively and delivers the very best quality of care towards its residents.
HMCG are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Registered Manager to lead and manage their large & luxurious nursing home in Hexham called Acomb Court.
Acomb Court itself is a 76 bedded, purpose built care facility that is fully compliant with CQC & has a fantastic reputation in the local area. The home boasts beautiful landscaped gardens and is decorated internally to a very high standard.
The ideal candidate will be a strong proven leader with the passion and commitment to achieve the highest possible standards of care excellence & operational efficiency.
Role Responsibilities:
- Ensure the delivery of quality care -‐‑ continually assessing the residents’ needs and wishes and developing the service to enhance their quality of life.
- Actively ensure the home has the highest possible levels of occupancy – utilising links with the local community, positively marketing the home and increasing public awareness of our services.
- Take on accountability for the home – ensuring compliance with all company policies and CQC regulatory requirements; striving to achieve the best possible care rating and other external recognition of quality.
- Manage the financial effectiveness of the home -‐‑ maintain the budget of the home and seek to identify opportunities to increase profitability and reduce cost.
- Take on an active leadership role – you will need to be a visible leader in the home supporting the operation of a twenty-‐‑four hour business.
- Developing your people – you will have the opportunity to build your team, by recruiting and developing the right people to grow your business and through supporting their career development.
- Ensure the on-‐‑going safety of residents, staff and visitors through systematic assessment, monitoring and reviewing processes
- Ensure that clear and accurate records and communication systems relating to clinical and care delivery are maintained and effectively used
- Act as a role model for good clinical and care governance practice
Applicant Requirements:
- Although Acomb Court is a Nursing Home, it is not essential for applicants to hold a current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- Have a legal right to work in the UK.
- Have 3 or more years’ experience working within a care home setting acting as aRegistered Home Manager
- Has achieved one or more of the below qualifications:
- . Registered Manager’s Award
- . NVQ Level 4 in Leadership and Management for Care Services.
- . Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care
- Strong leadership and management qualities are essential, as is a dynamic and flexible approach to the role.
- Successful candidates must have a sound understanding of the CQC’s standards of practice alongside an up-‐‑to-‐‑date knowledge of all other relevant legislation.
- Demonstrate excellent commercial awareness and business acumen alongside the ability to lead by example, act decisively.
